1. Pokemon Sun and Moon
Pokemon is not the only things evolving, as the hit Nintendo game Pokemon GO, has been a major turning point for the franchise ever since it’s release. Their newest title, Sun and Moon is already selling faster than a Deoxys, in fact, Pokemon Go and Sun and Moon have both sold well over 14 million copies.
2. Fallout 4
Despite the performance bugs that are notorious in Bethesda games, Fallout 4 still managed to captivate fans. The series is easily a larger and more superior version of the series as it gives the player domain over a number of settlements and opens modding options. Before the launch, Bethesda sent out a total of 12 million copies to stores everywhere.
Although that doesn’t mean they all sold out, the digital copies do speak for themselves as they sold 1.8 downloads online just within three days.
3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The Witcher was not always popular but CD Projekt Red’s third game has brought even more attention and fans to the trilogy.
Living up to the hype that was promised, Wild Hunt delivered a truly vast world that is triple the size of any open world they had endeavored to create before, along with designing an environment that interreacts with each choice the player makes.
All three of the games in the trilogy sold more than 25 million copies together with Wild Hunt nearly making half that number in sales which bring it to 12 million units.
4. Final Fantasy 15
After countless setbacks, the large reappearance of the series has come back with a game that has been in creation for 10 years, Final Fantasy 15. The final release of the game offers the player an enormous open world to travel and a team of four sworn brothers who set off on a mission. Although there is a lot to enjoy in the game it also received mix reviews about some of the mechanics of the game.
Overall it did sell both physical copies and digital sales that surpassed 6 million units.
5. Horizon Zero Dawn
An interesting and unique combination of both post-apocalyptic civilization alongside rapid robot dinosaurs, Horizon Zero Dawn is nothing anyone has ever seen. Its fast-paced storyline coupled with its large open world makes for a great action role play adventure.
Despite it being exclusively released for PS4, the game has sold more than 3.4 million copies within the first 3 months after it’s launch.
